Steamboat Rock on the Green River

On a five-day rafting trip down the Green River in Colorado and Utah, we stopped for lunch at this beautiful spot at Echo Park on day #4. Unfortunately, there was no time to paint on-site, so I took a number of reference photos from which this oil was done. The monolithic rock on the left is Steamboat Rock. As we rafted slowly along its base, the sheer rock face towering above us was an incredibly awesome sight.
