In Italy, it seems everyone hangs their linens out to dry on clotheslines outside of their green shuttered windows. This is especially effective in Vernazza where the wind off the sea whips up the narrow Via Roma running through the heart of town. The laundry adds splashes of constantly changing color to the scenic, old world architecture.
